The Billhook

The Billhook or simply "English Bill" was descended from the medieval agricultural tool. Comprised of a spiked axe-head with a hook atop a six-foot staff, the bill could pull horsemen out of the saddle and pierce or shear chain mail.
Both the longbow and the billhook had difficulties penetrating plate armour, and were considered obsolescent at the dawn of the sixteenth century.
